What is Alcalytics?

Alcalytics is a suite of custom applications that offers Canadian liquor agents a streamlined alternative to traditional sales and inventory management tools.

What level of accounting knowledge is required to use the system?

We have designed Alcalytics to be easy to use. You do not need to understand accounting. If you can create a Purchase Order and reconcile a Vendor Bill you will know how to use Alcalytics. To help, we offer easy instructions and simple, identifiable forms so you can quickly and confidently get up and running.

What type of inventory valuation methods does Alcalytics support?

In short, Alcalytics values inventory based on the first-in first-out (FIFO) method. We understand that inventory is likely your largest and most important current asset and that proper measurement of inventory is critical to ensure accurate financial statements. Alcalytics uses a complex set of algorithms, that you need not understand, to calculate and report on your inventory in the most accurate and efficient way possible.

Do I need special hardware to interact with the applications?

Not at all. Our applications are compatible with any internet connected device with a modern web browser.

Is the software difficult to use?

We have made the system as simple as possible. The system is almost completely automated and requires very little user intervention. Simply create your purchase orders in our system and let Alcalytics handle the rest.

Do I have to manually upload files and data into the system?

No. Our systems are fully integrated with the key stakeholders in Western Canada. Our integration partners include: Connect Logistics Services, Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, Hillebrand Westlink, Container World and the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch with more to come!

Is there a long learning curve?

No. While the system in the background is complex we have endeavoured to make Alcalytics easy to use. We are here to provide free training and support on the system and are always looking for ways to increase usability.

Does your system work in multiple markets?

Yes our systems are fully integrated in Alberta and British Columbia. Functionality for other markets remains limited but expansion into other markets is a part of our roadmap.

Does Alcalytics come with out-of-the-box reporting?

Yes, Alcalytics comes with over 40 on-demand reports that cover many common sales, inventory and marketing activities.

Will I gain immediate value from the system?

Yes. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that you receive real value from the system immediately. Our extensive reports will provide insight into your business operations that you never dreamed possible.

We have already invested heavily in systems and custom applications to suit our business, if we subscribe to Alcalytics will these systems become redundant?

Absolutely not. Alcalytics and SlapChop are designed to work with your existing infrastructure. If you have very little in the way of existing systems that is totally fine, but if you have systems to integrate with we can normally accomplish this quickly and easily.

Can I really manage all of my most important business aspects within Alcalytics?

Absolutely. Our existing functionality covers all major business areas for a liquor agent with more being added daily. Extensive functionality currently exists in the following areas, with new features being added constantly:

  • Receiving transactions

Pricing and billing

How much does Alcalytics/SlapChop cost?

You can get started for as little as $300 a month for an annual subscription of SlapChop, our adhoc analysis tool. An annual subscription to Alcalytics is $1,000 a month and includes a SlapChop subscription and covers all regions in which you do business.

What is included with my Alcalytics subscription?

Your subscription includes unlimited users, access to all of our features, including reporting and our analytical tool, SlapChop. It also includes free automatic upgrades, secure storage of your data, training as well as phone and e-mail support.

How will I be billed?

Our software is billed on a monthly subscription basis.

What payment options are available? Can I pay monthly or annually?

You have a choice of a monthly or annual plan for either SlapChop or Alcalytics.

  • Monthly Plan: You pay month by month, and you can cancel at any time.
  • Annual Plan: You sign up for a one-year subscription, but you can choose to pay month to month or for the entire year at the time you sign up. There is a discount for having an annual subscription.
What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major forms of payment including: Cash, Cheque, Money Order and all major debit or credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. Depending on your subscription type you can cancel at any time without penalty.

Data and security

Our business data is sensitive, is your system secure? How safe is it to have my data sent over the Internet?

Alcalytics uses the same technology used by online banks and brokerages to transmit your private data over the Internet. In addition we have strict privacy agreements that ensure your information is never shared with 3rd parties or used without your consent.

Does Alcalytics back up our company's data?

Yes. In addition to always maintaining two copies of your data simultaneously, we automatically back up your updated data twice daily. Your data is stored on firewall protected, redundant servers so your data is safe from hardware and software failures, hackers and viruses.

Who owns the data in Alcalytics?

Your company's data is its own. If you decide to cancel your Alcalytics subscription at any time, you can download your data and save it to another location. After you cancel your subscription, data associated with your Alcalytics account will be available to your administrator(s) in a limited function account for 60 days.

What are the system requirements for Alcalytics?

Alcalytics System Requirements are fairly simple:

  • Internet connection required (high-speed connection recommended)
  • A modern web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari
  • Also accessible via mobile browsers on Android and iOS
  • Compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets (not all features are available on mobile devices)
How do I get started with Alcalytics?

We are glad that you asked! We will begin with a short startup interview which will allow us to customize Alcalytics for your business. You can import data from existing systems, we can provision historical data from your warehouser, or you can start quickly from scratch. Either way, we will have you ready to go in no time at all.

Alcalytics was founded in 2011 by two Alberta based entrepreneurs. The product was released into the Alberta market on an invite only basis in 2012.
